Project Description
The project involved the comprehensive transformation of a 1950s home, blending modern comforts with the preservation of its original charm. The existing home had undergone previous extensions by former owners, which were demolished to make way for a more cohesive and light filled design. A significant extension was added to the back of the property introducing abundant natural light into the newly designed kitchen area, making it the heart of the home.
The renovation included a complete overhaul of the existing structure, with extensive rewiring and replumbing to ensure modern functionality. A two-storey extension was also added to the side of the house, creating additional living space while maintaining the architectural integrity of the original design. The home was further modernised with the installation of en-suites, energy efficient solar panels and underfloor heating, alongside new windows.
A dedicated home office was incorporated at ground level, catering to the needs of contemporary living. Throughout the renovation, rooms were reconfigured into spacious bright areas, enhancing the overall flow and feel of the home. Despite these modern upgrades, great care was taken to retain the home’s original character, ensuring that its unique charm remained an integral part of the finished project.
